Real Motion: November 2012 Is Moving On

Try as some did to make it into December, November held its own, being yet one of the fastest months to me to move from beginning to end.  The only slow segment was on November 6th as I waited to see who won the U.S. Presidency.  We kept the champion of the many rather than the few.

The Best-Looking Line

This morning my husband and I needed to run an errand to get a connector cable for his new iPhone.  He said he'd take me to an early lunch next to the cinemas where we would catch "Skyfall" the latest Bond film.  The cable he was looking for was not in stock.  Without the cable, off we went to Montehiedra Mall, a development inland on southbound Highway 52.  There were lines of people getting their early lunches at the Montehiedra Food Court where one can find a Mesón, a chain of sandwich shoppes that as far as I know does not have any franchises in the mainland, a Taco Maker, a Parrilla Argentina, a Panda Express, the Country Pit BBQ, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and several others.  We chose the Country Pit BBQ for its criollo menu.  In case you do not know what criollo food is, criollo means locally grown, with local seasonings and traditional rice and beans.  I noticed that the people waiting in line after us were a good-looking bunch, better looking than the folks at the Panda Express line and the ones in the Kentucky Fried Chicken line.  If that is always the case, and I would need to visit that Food Court much more often than once or twice a year, there is something to be said about criollo food over others.

The Bond film was even more violent than I expected it to be; with a strong backbone and safe place in the series of Bond films, I thought they could have done away with the violence against women and the violence against Bond himself [he even received two wounds in the opening sequence which is unheard and unnecessary to drive the Bond character home -- an entire chunk of the beginning of the film was dedicated to Bond's death to me something so out of place in good Bond screenplaying].  To me, Bond always narrowly escapes, in the realm of spy fantasies, he does not need to shed one ounce of blood to be victorious.

Great Gratitude!

Writing about being grateful every day was something I could not do, can not say why.  Yet, today I can show great gratitude for:

1.  the approaching holiday:  Thanksgiving on Thursday
2.  Christmas next month
3.  the New Year 2013
4.  Saint Valentine's February 14th 2013
5.  Saint Patrick's March 2013
6.  Those who understand the greater meaning of this list and work on our crash recovery calendar

This is being grateful for tomorrow, for the future, for things yet to happen.

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the good Humpty Dumpty folks who have one of the most difficult jobs in the galaxy, to watch over children everywhere.

Thank You for Yesterday!

There are many memories of yesterday in its broader meaning, I'd like to give thanks for those and immediate ones today.  And, I thank you Lord for the kind words my brother-in-law had when he heard about my recent losses.

I have yet to say anything online about the sudden death on Sunday in New Jersey of the husband of my mother's first cousin and best friend.  He was a gentleman from Spain who raised his family in the United States.  In my childhood, the summers we spent with his family are marked with a different kind of happiness one that my sisters and I share with his children.  His children are grown up now, one of his greatest accomplishments.  He kept a beautiful garden and remained active to his very last day.  May he be in God's glory, resting in peace as he watches from heaven his grandchildren.

His funeral is on Friday in New Jersey.

I would like to give thanks to the Lord for the avuncular role he played in my childhood and for being able to see him and his family this past summer.
