Kill-Me Signal Issued by DNA-Damaged Cells
Imagine you were a great danger to your family or work group and your body issued automatically an alert to them to kill you: you'd be a DNA-damaged cell! Scientists @ UC, in collaboration with others, have shown that, under conditions created only by chemotherapy and radiation, damage in DNA results in a "kill-me" signal to the immune system, the first line of defense against cancer.
